Nepali Flag

The national flag of Nepal is the world’s only flag that is non-quadrilateral in shape, it is a simplified combination of two single pennons. It is crimson with blue borders and incorporates stylized symbol of sun and the moon. The two triangles represents mountains and Himalayas in the country and also it represents two major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism. The color crimson red is color of Rhododendron, the national flower of Nepal. Red is also sign of closeness, the blue border represents the color of sky and sea which symbolizes distance and the peace. The white sun and crescent moon symbolizes the calmness and purity of spirit of the people of Nepal, and the sun represents their resolve. The white is also color of peace and neutrality. These symbols also represents the cold of Himalayas and the heat of the lowlands. Flags are so important for a country that it tells the story of the country. Flag has always represented freedom, dignity and true meaning of being an Nepali. The flag has been through countries different times like war, sad times, on the greatest victory and joy, it signifies permanence amidst all the changes country and its people are going through.
