This intricate detail carved in windows are crafted by master carver’s of Bhaktapur. This specific design is called “Mayur” Ankhi Jhyal, taking after the beautiful carved peacock in the center of the art. this is a common window example of Tikijhya. This design was commonly used on the second floor of the house. It is the most common window among the Ankhi Jhyal, it was used to allow light and air pass within the house and still maintain the privacy.
